Optimistic banter

It always happens to my wife. A person asks her "Where did you get that dress?"
and my wife goes all ga ga thinking its a compliment and that the enquiry is because the person also intends to buy from that shop. She does not realise that the reason the person is asking is to totally avoid that shop the next time they go shopping. Sometimes it is best to be optimistic. I am sometimes rather most times quizzed about "Where did you get your hair cut?". I used to jump to give the details but the question did not end there, it would go on with a, "Had you got a rat to nibble at it, would have done a better job!". Such is the power of optimism that I was under the impression that I have had a great hair cut.
The subject of hair cuts can start a big debate so lets leave that alone. More on such lines which one needs to think twice as to why the question is being asked.
a) Which College did you go to?
b) What do you eat for breakfast?
c) Are you really married?
